Dog & Cat Chiropractic
Dogs and cats are experts at hiding discomfort, it's instinct for them to keep moving and act normal even when something hurts. Often the only clue is something subtle: slowing down on walks, hesitating before a jump, or just seeming a little "off."
Sonoran Animal Chiropractic brings AVCA-certified chiropractic care directly to your home, anywhere in the Phoenix metro area. Your pet stays in a familiar, low-stress environment, this means no car ride, no waiting room, no unfamiliar smells to navigate before the exam even begins.
Why a Mobile, Certified Team Matters
Dr. Kristen, a veterinarian, and Dr. Alicia, a chiropractor, are both AVCA-certified in animal chiropractic. Bringing care to your pet's own environment also means we see how they actually move day to day, not just how they behave in a clinical setting, which often gives us a clearer picture during the evaluation.
Signs Your Dog May Benefit From an Adjustment
Stiffness getting up or lying down, reluctance to jump into the car or onto furniture, hesitating on stairs, uneven or shortened stride, a drop in activity or enthusiasm for walks and play, or changes in behavior such as a new reluctance to be touched, sudden grumpiness when handling, or just seeming off. This is especially common in active and athletic dogs (agility, working, sporting breeds) and senior dogs managing the normal wear of aging.
Signs Your Cat May Benefit From an Adjustment
Cats mask discomfort even more than dogs do. Watch for reduced jumping or climbing, changes in grooming habits (over-grooming one area, or grooming less overall), litter box changes, or a generally withdrawn or "not themselves" demeanor.
What to Expect at Your Pet's Visit
-
Reach out — Call or text 602-603-7139, or send us a message through our contact form. Tell us a bit about your pet and what you've noticed.
-
A little prep — For dogs, a quiet space at home with good footing (carpet or a rug) works best. For cats, having them contained in an easily accessible room before we arrive helps the visit go smoothly.
-
The visit — Your pet's first appointment runs about 30–45 minutes. We start with a conversation about what you've been noticing, then move into a hands-on evaluation of the spine and joints. The adjustment itself is gentle, most dogs and cats tolerate it well and many visibly relax during the process. We finish with a treatment plan tailored to your pet and your goals.
-
Follow-up — Some pets show improvement after one session; others benefit from 2–3 adjustments before changes are clearly noticeable. We'll talk through what makes sense moving forward.
